Ajin Ryu |  Architectural Designer

Ajin Ryu is an architectural designer based in New York. She received a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Fine Art from Rhode Island School of Design, and a Master of Architecture from Yale School of Architecture. Her work is published and exhibited internationally, including Yale Architecture Gallery, documentary film Frank Gehry: Impact Justice, Los Angeles Times, Dwell, and Metropolis Magazine. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects and Leed GA.

Her life-time interest is in conceptualizing and visualizing the hidden relationships brought by a close affective connections between people, space, and surroundings. She is interested in spaces involving the exchange of ideas, information, feeling, and thus providing sense of belonging. Her architectural work creates sensuous tension through space by creating moments of connections, and playing with intensity.

ROART | Architectural Designer

Worked on LA Lowrise competition, a 4-storey ground up commercial building in Bushwick Brooklyn, a 6-storey mixed-used building in Tribeca, a penthouse duplex unit in Upper East Side Manhattan, and a ground floor playroom renovation project at Columbus Circle.

Fink & Platt Architects | Architectural Designer

Worked on 21-storey public hallway in Upper East side Manhattan, and a number of high-end apartment renovation and expansion projects in New York.

Fink & Platt Architects | Junior Designer

Worked on East Hampton House in Long Island, and an apartment combination project in Tribeca, NY.

Friedrich St. Florian Architects - Architectural Intern

Worked on Little Compton House, Barrington Shopping Center in Rhode Island, and Salford meadow bridge competition.
